Neon advertising in Australia was booming through the 1900s. Some of the most iconic signs were erected as early as the 1930s, including "Little Audrey" as Skipping Girl Vinegar in Abbotsford, Victoria. Many of these signs have since been restored and are still standing, with some even claiming heritage listing, such as the Pink Poodle in Surfers Paradise, Queensland.
These iconic neon signs are now a representation of the former glory of neon advertising in Australia and perhaps, a reminder of how resilient, timeless and stunning neon can be.
